At CUAV 2024, Aero Systems West had the opportunity to preview an exciting safety product from Parasafe—our inflatable airbag system. Designed to cushion the fall of your drone and its payload in case of a malfunction, this innovation adds another layer of security to UAV operations. The airbag system, showcased through an engaging video demonstration, drew significant interest from attendees looking for advanced safety solutions for heavy lift drones. In a real-world scenario, the airbag would inflate in less than two seconds, providing rapid protection for both the drone and its payload.

At MinExpo, Aero Systems West brought along our 1/10th scale model of the HLM Quad to demonstrate the capabilities of our heavy lift drones. While this scaled-down version effectively showcased our engineering precision and innovative design, it was comically dwarfed by the massive mining equipment on display. The juxtaposition of our model against the colossal machinery highlighted the impressive size and power of the mining industry—and the unique versatility and adaptability of our drones to complement it.
As our first venture into an industry-specific event, MinExpo was an eye-opening experience. Held in the heart of the mining industry, the expo allowed ASW to dive deep into an emerging market and explore how our drones could address the unique challenges faced by mining operations.
From underground exploration to open-pit mining, the range of use cases we encountered was staggering. And while our heavy lift drones are known for their size and power, walking through MinExpo made them feel like toy helicopters next to the colossal mining equipment on display. It was a humbling—and honestly pretty funny—reminder of just how vast this industry is and the exciting opportunities it holds.
