Reflecting on Innovation, Collaboration, and the Future of Open Architecture UAS
As the unmanned systems industry continues to evolve at an incredible pace, events like AUVSI XPONENTIAL remain an important reminder of what makes this industry special: collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for the future of autonomy.
Looking back on XPONENTIAL 2025 in Houston, one thing stood out clearly. The future of industrial drone operations will not be built around isolated ecosystems or closed platforms. It will be built through interoperability, modularity, and partnerships between companies pushing the industry forward together.
That momentum is exactly what we are excited to continue building toward as we look ahead to XPONENTIAL 2026.

Looking Back at Houston
XPONENTIAL 2025 brought together thousands of professionals across the UAV, robotics, autonomy, and advanced air mobility industries. From heavy lift aircraft and avionics to AI-enabled workflows and evolving regulatory discussions, the event highlighted how quickly the industry is maturing.
As proud partners and authorized North American dealers of CubePilot, Aero Systems West joined the CubePilot team in booth #3505 to showcase open architecture integration, industrial drone platforms, and next-generation flight systems.
Throughout the week, attendees had the opportunity to experience our HLM and ILM heavy lift multirotor platforms firsthand while discussing real-world operational challenges facing industrial and commercial operators today.
The conversations were thoughtful, practical, and future-focused.
Open Architecture Continues to Shape the Industry
One of the strongest themes throughout XPONENTIAL 2025 was the growing demand for adaptable and interoperable systems.
Operators increasingly want the flexibility to configure aircraft around mission requirements instead of being locked into rigid ecosystems. Integrators want scalable platforms that can evolve alongside changing payloads, autonomy workflows, and regulatory frameworks.
That philosophy continues to guide how we approach platform development at Aero Systems West.
Our continued collaboration with CubePilot reflects a shared belief in open ecosystems, flexible integration pathways, and giving operators greater control over how their systems are built and deployed.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we move toward XPONENTIAL 2026, our team is focused on continuing to refine and expand the technologies that generated excitement in Houston.
That includes ongoing development surrounding modular avionics integration, scalable heavy lift platforms, and the broader evolution of the ROAM™ ecosystem.
We are also excited to continue supporting operators, developers, and integrators who are helping define the future of industrial UAS operations across inspection, logistics, research, public safety, and beyond.
The industry is moving quickly, but the goal remains the same: building reliable systems that are practical, adaptable, and ready for real-world operations.

More Than Technology
Beyond the hardware and technology demonstrations, XPONENTIAL has always been about the people behind the industry.
Some of the best moments happen between meetings, inside collaborative conversations, or during late-night discussions with fellow builders, pilots, engineers, and innovators who genuinely care about where this industry is heading.
That energy was impossible to miss in Houston, and it continues to inspire the work we do every day.
We are grateful to everyone who stopped by the booth, shared ideas, explored new opportunities, or simply took the time to connect.
We look forward to continuing those conversations in 2026.
See you at XPONENTIAL.
